Special Inspector
L.E. Gregg Associates is seeking a Kentucky Building Code Special Inspector to join our team. The applicant will be responsible for reading and interpreting plans and specifications for a project and performing the inspections and materials testing required to ensure the structure is being created according to the project documents and building codes. The position is closely tied to the construction industry and will require a flexible schedule, outdoor work and occasional overnights. The position does not have to be based in Lexington, Kentucky; however, travel to Lexington will be required.

The applicant shall have at a minimum:

  • A high school GED or diploma
  • A clean and valid driver's license
  • Be able to lift 80 pounds on a regular basis
  • Be computer literate and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be self-reliant and self-motivating
  • Be able to communicate clearly with superintendents and coworkers.

  • The following are desired qualifications:

  • College education
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • The ability to read plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of the Kentucky or International Building Code
  • ACI or ICC Certifications
  • Project Manager
    L.E. Gregg Associates is seeking an experienced and qualified Project Manager to join our team. The position will be based in Lexington, Kentucky but will responsible for projects throughout Central Kentucky.
    The applicant’s responsibilities include:

  • Management of IBC Special Inspection and Materials Testing Projects
  • Management and oversight of engineering technician personnel
  • Responsible for field activities requiring high levels of competence or oversight
  • Client Management including problem resolution and client satisfaction
  • Expansion of the client base through networking and relationship building
  • Development of proposal documents based on plans, specifications and building code

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in construction management or civil (geotechnical) engineering, or 5 years of direct experience.
  • ACI and ICC certifications

  • Must have a high level of experience and understanding of the International Building Code. Must be self-motivating and able to excel with minimal oversight. Experienced in employee and sub consultant management, estimating and proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.

    Laboratory Technician
    L.E. Gregg Associates is an aggressive and growing engineering firm located in Lexington, Kentucky. We are interested in hiring a Laboratory Technician. The position is a full time position with competitive pay, health insurance, 401K, and paid sick leave and vacations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a clean and valid driver’s license
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Be computer literate
  • Great attention to detail
  • Be self-reliant and self-motivating. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be able to communicate clearly with coworkers and clients
  • Ability to work early mornings and occasional weekends. Ability to work at least 40 hours a week or more if required.

  • The following items are bonuses:

  • College Education (BS in engineering, geology, environmental or related field)
